Get to know the Green Scheme of Slovenian tourism.

The Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism (ZSST) is a national program and certification scheme which, under the umbrella brand SLOVENIA GREEN:

- combines all efforts for the sustainable development of tourism in Slovenia,
- offers destinations and providers concrete tools to assess and improve sustainable operations,
- through the SLOVENIA GREEN brand, it also promotes this green action.

The green scheme of Slovenian tourism SLOVENIA GREEN is therefore a comprehensive system designed to promote the development of sustainable tourism in Slovenia, and it is intended for both destinations and individual tourism providers. The scheme, whose purpose is to increase the competitiveness, quality and innovation of Slovenian tourism, is based on the system of European tourism indicators ETIS and the global tool GSTC, which enables comparison with green destinations around the world.

The GIZ Podčetrtek destination joined the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism in 2017 and received the Slovenia Green Gold Label in 2018. As the bearer of such a sign and as the leading destination of the macro-tourism region of Pannonian-thermal Slovenia, the destination is obliged (at the local as well as national level) to present the Slovenia Green sign in a high-quality manner and thereby encourage all stakeholders in tourism to implement practices of sustainable behavior in tourism.

At our destination, the Slovenia Green sign was also awarded to:
Apartments Ortenia (Slovenia Green Accomodation) and
Kozjanski Park (Slovenia Green Park).

In 2022, Terme Olimia also received the Green Key sign, in 2023, the Banovina Wine, Culture and Tourism Promotion Center will also receive the sign.
