It was first mentioned as a square in 1377, where a shaming pillar - pranger is still preserved today. Today's Podsreda is an interesting square settlement with the traditional market plot. With its location in the space, it is one of a few selected areas of exceptional cultural landscapes. The Podsreda footpath, which connects natural and cultural attractions, leads to Podsreda castle in the forest. Attractions worth visiting include the pillory, plant treatment plant, throne of The Emperor, and Church of St. John Krstnik, and the Slovenian-Bavarian house with a statue of Anton Ašnik. In the square, there is the management of the regional park, where the visitor receives information about the nature and visit of the protected area.
