PODSREDA THE DAVJEK KARST SPRING
Kozjanski PARK IS ONE OF THE OLDEST AND LARGEST PROTECTED AREAS IN SLOVENIA
The Davjek Karst spring is located in the isolated karst of the Kozjanski park. Karst springs are characterised by large fluctuations in flow and occasional turbidity along high waters. It measures 1m in diameter and continues into the stream, where there is another smaller spring, which is also used for drinking. The stream flows into the river Sotla. The hollow is about 10 m long and 8 m wide. The spring was formatted with contact between the permeable limestone and the impermeable marl. Davjek is a beautiful example of a cave and a karst spring, which is also suitable for picnics, walks in the surroundings, and small parties.
