KOZJE THE KOZJE SQUARE
Former market core from 1016
The settlement was already mentioned in 1016 as a court with 30 farms. The town was never fortified, which led to Turkish invasions and was also hit hard by the plague epidemic. Kozje came to life again by the mid-19th century. It became the seat of the judicial and tax district, the dean. In the old town square core, there is a lot of architectural heritage, both residential and commercial buildings and the church of St. Emma and the Parish Church of Mary.
